This policy explains what information UK Lake District ("we", "us") collects when you visit uklakedistrict.com, how it's used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — for example which walks are most popular — so we can improve our guides. This uses cookies and collects aggregated, largely anonymised data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/region) and device type. We do not use it to identify you personally.

We may display advertising served by Google AdSense to help keep the site free. When active, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Our site uses a service worker to keep a few core files (styles and scripts) on your device so pages load quickly. No personal data is stored or sent to us. You can remove a saved walk with Remove offline copy on its page, or clear it with your browser's site data settings.
Third-party content
Some pages embed content from third parties to provide features — including OpenStreetMap/ Leaflet and Ordnance Survey map tiles, yr.no weather forecasts, and YouTube video guides.
